Pair of oak carver chairs

Pair of Barley Twist Carver Chairs in Stunning Designer Peacock Velvet

Classic 1920’s carver chairs

Overall height: 43.5 Inches; Overall width: 21.5 Inches; Overall depth: 20.5 Inches;

A pair of classic 1920’s oak carver chairs with barley twist detail, fully refurbished and re-upholstered by myself using traditional methods.

These chairs were filthy dirty, but using my Dad’s secret recipe, (he was a French Polisher by trade) all of the wood work has been cleaned up and the natural beauty of the oak wood is once again on show.

Sometimes you just have to let the fabric be the star of the show! This gorgeous designer velvet has a dark green background featuring a handsome peacock motif nestling against a lush botanical themed backdrop. Stunning pops of colour ~ deep purple rose hips; electric blue and green butterflies contrast against white Japanese anemones and stocks. Just gorgeous.

This contemporary fabric has given a complete new lease of life to these antique chairs

The perfect addition to your dining room, hallway or even the lounge.

FREE delivery to UK (mainland only).

Antique chair upholstered in blue chintz with stunning dragon fly design

Antique Chair Upholstered in Blue Chintz with Unique Embroidered Dragon Fly Design

The perfect statement chair for your bedroom

Materials: Blue chintz, silk, silver studs

Overall height: 36 Inches; Overall width: 21 Inches; Overall depth: 20 Inches;

A classic French antique chair made from quality mahogany. A lovely elegant shape with fluted legs, original castors and detailed carving to the ‘handle’.

Fully refurbished and re-upholstered by myself using traditional methods. The woodwork has been carefully cleaned.

I used a vintage, blue glazed cotton chintz fabric, which, I am reliably informed is making a come back.

I love to combine textile art with traditional upholstery. Painted dragonflies on silk organza have been carefully appliqued to the back of the chair. Hand embroidered dandelions complete this unique design.

Finished with chrome studs – I love the result, mixing antique with a contemporary twist to add a touch of quirkiness.

FREE Delivery to UK (Mainland only).

Steam train chair - Ella Jenkins Designs

Mid Century Parker Knoll Armchair with Steam Train Design

The perfect chair for all steam train enthusiasts.

Materials: British wool, velvets, linen.

Overall height: 33 Inches; Overall width: 24 Inches; Overall depth: 28 Inches;

This lovely vintage Parker Knoll arm chair has been completely refurbished and re-upholstered using traditional methods.

The overall size and shape of the chair suggests it would be very comfortable for a gentleman perhaps to sit and and read the paper, or a book on steam trains?

I take a lot my inspiration from the local landscape. I live in Little Bytham, where the East Coast main line railway cuts through the village over viaducts.

It’s also where the Mallard locomotive made it’s 126 mph record breaking run on the 3rd July 1938 and in 1933 the Flying Scotsman achieved 120 mph just south of the village.

Inspired by the above, this is my interpretation of the Flying Scotsman travelling over a nearby viaduct.

Textile techniques including applique, patchwork, machine and hand embroidery have resulted in a truly unique chair. This is a one off design. It is also a chair that is to be treasured forever.

The main fabric is a terracotta/brick coloured, extremely hard wearing 100% British wool from Moons.

The frame has been sanded down, cleaned up and returned to it’s lovely natural patina with the use of hemp oil. I love the darkened groves to the front edges of the chair. They remind me of railway tracks.

I offer a FREE Delivery service within a 25 mile radius of the post code NG33 4RA.

Alternatively you can also collect from my workshop which is near to Stamford in Lincolnshire.

If you live further a field then please contact me to discuss delivery options and prices.

Nautical theme from Ella Jenkins Designs

Four Antique French Dining/Bedroom Chairs

Refurbished and Reupholstered. Seaside/Nautical Inspired Design.

Materials: Laura Ashley fabric, Velvet, Linen,

Overall height: 32.5 Inches; Overall width: 15.5 Inches; Overall depth: 15 Inches

Four classic and timelessly beautiful, antique French dining room chairs fully restored & reupholstered.

I started by cleaning up the woodwork to reveal the natural beauty of the wood. Next they were re-upholstered using traditional methods.

Featuring a crisp, fresh stripe from Laura Ashley. I have added a seaside motif to make each chair individual, but with a nautical theme for the set.

I think they still look antique, but with a contemporary twist.

The Honest Facts:

These chairs are lovely, but they are quite dainty in size and design. I would NOT recommend them for heavy, every day use. They will be fine as occasionally used dining room chairs or a bedroom chair to sit on to put your socks on.

There is a bracket missing from one chair in the top corner

Not to be sold separately! These chairs have been together for over a hundred years and I am not splitting them up now.

Delivery: You can collect from my workshop (NG33 4RA).

I am happy to offer FREE local delivery – within a 25 mile radius of the above Post Code
