Antique footstool with unique embroidered hare design
A stunning antique footstool with the embroidered three hares symbol.
Dark green velvet is the backdrop to a unique design with an appliqued three hares symbol in gold velvet. The three hares images is apparently thousands of years old and has been found in ancient China, the Far East as well as pagan Britain.
If you look carefully each hare only has the one ear, but the circular design makes it appear each hare has two ears.
The burr walnut wood has been carefully cleaned up to reveal the marquetry design. This lovely little footstool still has the original porcelain feet.
The result is this stunning and utterly unique footstool, that would make a lovely gift for that special person.
