Description
Antique chair from the Queen Anne period with beautiful carved detail. Fully refurbished and reupholstered by myself using traditional methods.
The woodwork has been cleaned up using my Dad’s secret recipe (he was a French Polisher), revealing the beautiful colour and patina of the wood. The lovely carving to the back of the chair is of exceptional quality.
A luxurious duck egg blue velvet has been used to re-cover the seat, and I have appliqued, in black velvet, a little hare sheltering under a tree of life and gazing up at the moon and stars.
The result is an utterly unique design. A blend of traditional upholstery with textile art. It has been designed to be used as a chair, not just admired.
The chair has a good sized, comfortable (firm) sprung seat and retains it’s original castors. The frame is in good condition, this type of chair was certainly built to last.
It would make a lovely addition to your bedroom, hallway or even as an office chair.
