Stunning Badgers and Bluebells Footstool with Original Felted Artwork

This design is a collaborative project with the very talented Eve Marshall. Using an original piece of her felted artwork, I have appliqued two badgers snuffling amongst the bluebells.

Hand and free motion machine embroidery have been used to build up the detail texture and shading. It is stitched onto a backing of fire retardant vibrant lime green linen and then upholstered onto a re-furbished footstool.

The fabric is extremely hard wearing and it can be safely used as a footstool without risk of damage to the artwork (just take your shoes off first!)

This is a one of a kind piece and the design will never be repeated.

Description

A quality footstool that was a little tired and dated has been fully re-upholstered and imaginatively transformed into an utterly unique piece of furniture.

Lime green linen forms the colourful backdrop to a stunning original felted artwork created by the very talented Eve Marshall.

Two handsome badgers wander through silver birch trees in bluebell woods. Amongst the textile techniques used to create this woodland scene are wet felting, applique, machine and hand embroidery.

A stunning and colourful footstool, totally unique, there will never be another one like it.

This footstool has been designed to be used as well as admired.

The footstool measures 14″ high, 40″ wide, 16″ deep.
