Description
A pair of classic Edwardian chairs fully revived with skill and artistic flair into a future heirloom pieces.
I started by cleaning up the woodwork with my Dad’s secret recipe, (he was a French Polisher by trade) and it now has a lovely patina to it revealing the natural beauty of the wood.
These lovely chairs have been stripped right down to the frame and then completely re-upholstered. A stunning blue velvet has been used to cover the seats which compliments beautifully the peacock fabric used for top feature.
I have added a couple of machine embroidered peacock feathers on just one of the seats. It looks as if they have floated down from above and gently landed on the seat. I like the quirkiness of the chairs being slightly different from each other, but identical on first impression.
The chairs are finished with a double piping trim in the peacock fabric and an antique brass stud, which is a replica of how they were done originally.
I love the result, antique but the colours makes them an option for a contemporary setting. Utterly unique.
