Classically elegant French chairs that have been fully restored and artistically updated with a modern striped fabric. Each chair has it’s own unique appliqued and hand embroidered seaside inspired motif.

Antique but contemporary at the same time and utterly unique.

Perfect for a smaller dining area or indeed, as lovely bedroom chairs in coastal inspired decore.

Description

Four French antique dining room chair that have been fully restored with skill and artistic flair.

They are classically elegant- excellent quality – built to last and possibly Napoleonic. I love their shape, their elegance, the detail on the carving to the back and their ‘Frenchness’.

I started by cleaning up the woodwork with my Dad’s secret recipe, (he was a French Polisher by trade) and it now has a lovely patina to it revealing the natural beauty of the wood.

Each chair has been stripped down – some right down to the frame as they had saggy bottoms and re-webbed then re-upholstered using traditional methods.

Inspired by a trip to Norfolk, I went for a nautical theme. Using a lovely striped fabric from Laura Ashley, I have added a seaside inspired detail to make each chair unique – anchors, boat, mermaid, sea horse.

Please not these are antique chairs so there are a few marks and dings. One chair has a missing bracket to the top corner.
