Once upon a time this was a very dated dressing table stool, something that your Grandma used to have – pink draylon, dust trapping buttoned top, ghastly off white legs. Get the picture?
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the stool itself, it just need an imaginative transformation. Working closely with my friend Eve Marshall, a talented artisan felter we came up with this stunning and unique piece.
The legs are painted in a gorgeous bespoke sea foam green colour. The seat has new foam and is upholstered in a peacock green Indian silk shot through with gold thread. The matching green fringe trim adds a touch of glamour.
But the thing that makes this stool truly unique is Eve’s ‘Summer Hares’ felted design. Printed onto velvet fabric, hares play in a flower filled summer meadow under beautiful blue skies. The details and colours are simply amazing.
So now this vintage dressing table stool has a new lease of life. It’s glamorous, colourful and very eye catching. Totally unique ~ it needs a new owner who can appreciate its big personality and treasure it for the beautiful thing it is.
