Vintage 1930's Dressing Table Stool - Toile de Jouy Fabric
Shabby Chic Footstool
This footstool was in a sorry state when I picked it up - it was originally a 1930's burr walnut tool but was filthy dirty and badly chipped in places, it even had a saggy bottom! But the shape and style called to me and I decided this ugly duckling could be beautiful again.
I painted the elegant cabriole legs in Farrow & Ball's 'Shaded White' and completely re-upholstered it in the traditional manner with new webbing so it no longer sags and then covered it in a lovely ivory & blue toile de jouy fabric. A matching gimp braid finishes off the seat and I then distressed the paintwork to give it an aged/vintage look.
Please note there is a small repair to the inside of one of the legs.
Take a look at the matching cushion and lavender heart also listed in my shop if you are looking for a complete ensemble. I can combine posting for additional items.
Size: 22” L x 18” W x 15” H ( at lowest part of the seat)
