I have to be honest, I am a little bit fed up of working with the 'grieges' - you know the type of linen fabrics I am talking about? You can't tell if they are grey or beige? I seem to have worked with nothing else for months now. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of neutrals and I know a lot of people find them easy to live with, but every now and then my soul cries out for a splash of colour and a bit of pattern.
So on Monday , I downed tools and had a lovely morning creating lots of lovely floral cushions in celebration of Summer (yes, I know that it's not been that good a summer so far, but God loves an optimist!). Roses, hydrangeas and peonies made me smile.
A Mix of Pattern ...
Pretty cushions in lively prints are a simple, inexpensive way to add energy to a room. Floral fabrics in complementary colours are always eye catching and easy to mix with other patterns such as stripes and gingham checks. I had great fun working with some bright colours and even threw in a bit of pom pom trim for an extra touch of glamour!
