Remember this rather sad looking chair?
Well I am pleased to say that I finally got around to working on this Victorian button backed chair.
Stripped of the snot green draylon it was in fairly good condition underneath so it just required a bit of a tidy up and a good old clean. The legs were very badly marked so I decided to paint them – I think they look good.
I decided to go with a lovely linen fabric with blue shabby chic roses. I think it complements the style of the chair nicely. The plain blue buttons add a touch of contemporary contrast.
Ruari, my ginger tom was rather taken with it too. The house rule is that the cats can sleep on any of my furniture (but never client’s furniture) as long as it hasn’t been finished off in the top fabric. He was pushing his luck somewhat in this instance, but he reassured me that the lovely designer linen fabric showed off his “gingerness” to perfection!
This chair is such a lovely shape and perfectly proportioned. I love the spoon back, the deep buttoning and the elegant sloping shape to the back. It’s actually very comfortable with a good sized seat.
You can find this lovely chair for sale in my shop.
